Grant Guidelines
Grant Guidelines and Deadlines
The Ian and Mimi Rolland Family Foundation grants to non-profit organizations qualified under Section 501©(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
The majority of grants are made to organizations within the Fort Wayne, Indiana metropolitan area or to organizations doing work that have direct outreach or impact in the Fort Wayne area.
Grants are also made on a selective basis to organizations in areas where voting members of the Foundation reside. These currently include Kokomo, Indiana; Columbus, Indiana; and Columbus, Ohio.
Areas of Interest
A majority of our grants will go toward human and social services which are focused on creating a more equitable society by enhancing the well-being of individuals in need. This will typically consist of over 70% of our annual contributions.
Other areas of interest include the arts, environmental and community enrichment organizations.
Grant types and amounts
Program/project grant requests are preferred although general operating requests will also be considered.
We do not wish to make multi-year commitments/grants. Although, we will typically continue to fund organizations on a year-to-year basis in response to an annual request.
Grants typically range between $2,500 - $10,000. In some limited cases we may make larger grants, but that is typically after we have developed a closer relationship with your organization over some time.
We don’t typically fund the following:
-
Churches
-
Religious, charter or magnet schools
-
Political lobbying activities or other political purposes
-
Individuals for any purpose
-
International organizations that are not qualified in the US
-
For-profit businesses
